IISH – Enabling the world to know the scientific Indian heritage

The Indian Institute of Scientific Heritage (IISH) had been started in Kerala,India with a mission to reveal the actual Indian heritage in a scientific manner, as well as to educate the world (and more so the Indians ) about the glorious Vedic contributions. In the last 40 centuries, India was a safe destination for the whole world. The destination was India oriented not only because of its physical wealth, but also because India excelled in various walks of life including science, art, business and entertainment.(See the chronological era at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indus_Valley_Civilization )
Over the centuries, there have been several attempts to degrade and denigrate the Vedic Indian civilization. Through their consecutive attacks on India, the foreign imperialistic forces ( rulers from the Middle east and Europeans and much more ) always tried to de-stabilize and annihilate the Indian civilization to show their might in the world. But despite all these problems and issues, India was one of the richest countries in the world until the end of 17th century. Moreover India remained as a safe and friendly state to multi religions, multi languages and multi cultures.
Even the socio-political environment started by various groups in India also tried to damage this ancient civilization. For example in Kerala when the influence of communist thoughts became strong, the tendencies to reject the Indian way of life also grew side by side..Some of these aspects are described below..
* As communist ideology developed in Kerala by overpowering the Namboodiri rule, anything which is related with Namboodiri rituals were considered to be superstitious.
* Since the Namboodiri systems and lifestyle were closely connected with the Hindu religion and the Indian heritage, naturally it was also portrayed as an age old and non-practical way of life.
* The other religions who are supported financially by Western or Middle East backers , have also added their contribution to tarnishing this image of Hinduism.
* The English language oriented education which is trying to imitate the western culture made the people to look at their own heritage with a disrespectful manner.

Looking through all these issues, in the normal way of life, practicing anything of Indian civilization and Indian cultural rituals were portrayed as something from an expired ideology. But in actual senses, the Indian cultural values were a great knowledge base which was totally reasonable and scientific. It was a culture which was 100% natural and was closely related to the day to day activities of each and every man on this sphere. The ultimate aim of these rituals and traditions were to uplift the human beings, both in the materialistic sense as well as in the spiritual sense.

All these rituals ( or traditions ) were not a revelation which was done by any one particular person on any particular day. Rather it was an encyclopedia of wisdom which was transferred through thousands of educated and visionary personalities over the centuries. This Knowledge never became stagnant at any point of time in Indian history . These ideas were transferred to the next generation and re-organized and purified all throughout the course of passing time.
But as I stated above, these cultural values are currently being portrayedas some age old traditions which are of no relevance to the current scientific world. Thus we now stand in a very crucial period where attacks to the Indian (or Hindu) way of life are getting stronger and stronger.
In such a scenario, I think , the attempt of IISH is really incredible and invaluable. IISH is currently trying to make the people aware of the scientific values of this great tradition. It has already given a lot of scientific explanation to the various Indian rituals as well as tried to eradicate the superstitions which are existing as the original rituals in the society.

This Planet

Hi All,
Welcome to this small “Great Planet”. This planet has given us everything. A place where to live, grow, express ourselves, achieve greater goals and above all to become a more civilized person. This will be attained only by gaining more information, thinking the right perspective and having the ability to look into the future with more optimistic attitude..Starting from Kerala, India, now working in Walldorf, Germany, I have met a lot of very nice human beings, traveled and saw different places and gone through many synchronous or asynchronous opinions. All these collectively give us a lot of information, a lot of knowledge… Thus I know this small planet has a lot to offer…Lot more to know…And one should search for that knowledge throughout his life…

Yes life goes on.. (German) lieben geht weiter..!!!!
